Minister of Agriculture: Dialogue with students on Green Deal

The Minister of Agriculture, Maria Panagiotou, emphasized the need for the EU to maintain its leading role in the green transition during her visit to Latsia Lyceum.
According to a statement, Ms. Panagiotou highlighted that the Green Deal is a necessity for a sustainable future and praised the role of education and the new generation.
The visit took place within the framework of the program "Schools–Ambassadors of the European Parliament" (EPAS), focusing on climate change.
Emphasis was placed on the discussion with students regarding the challenges of the European Green Deal and the implementation of European policies in Cyprus.
The Minister stressed the need to strengthen recycling and address water scarcity, presenting the government's plan.
Regarding the agricultural sector, she noted that incentives are provided through the Common Agricultural Policy for sustainable practices.
The Minister congratulated the school for its participation in the EPAS program and Erasmus+ actions.
