Macron: An attack on Cyprus is an attack on Europe

French President Emmanuel Macron stated that "An attack on Cyprus is an attack on all of Europe," following the trilateral meeting in Cyprus with Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Nikos Christodoulides.
Macron emphasized France's solidarity with Cyprus, which has been attacked with missiles and drones, and mentioned the deployment of the Mistral air defense system and a frigate. He also noted that the frigate Kimon, built in a French shipyard, is in Cyprus.
Macron also announced plans for a defensive force in the Strait of Hormuz to ensure the safety of navigation, with the aim of escorting tankers and commercial ships. He called on other European countries to participate.
He also referred to the deployment of the frigate Languedoc and a Mistral anti-aircraft defense unit in the region, as well as the presence of the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle near Cyprus.
Macron stressed that France is monitoring the actions of Hezbollah and Israel's attacks on Lebanon, with the aim of stopping attacks from both sides.
