Marc: Investigation into Fake Invoices and Alithia Forum

The polling company Marc, owned by Thomas Gerakis, presented a study at the Alithia Forum, while simultaneously being investigated by YEDDE Attica for fake invoices.

According to a report in In.gr, the investigation concerns invoices totaling €239,000 issued between 2018 and 2020 by the company "Ionia Technical and Earthworks." This same company had been involved in issuing fake invoices to Krikel, owned by Giannis Lavranos, in connection with the wiretapping scandal.

"Ionia Technical," owned by Lambros Tsionaras, allegedly issued 29 invoices to Marc: 12 in 2018, 9 in 2019, and 8 in 2020. Mr. Gerakis had denied the accusations, claiming that all payments are made through a bank.

The YEDDE report states that Marc allegedly subcontracted research to "Ionia Technical," including "participation in a qualitative study of 29 people for margarine…", "Thessaloniki natural gas survey", "AEK survey questionnaires", "2019 European elections exit poll", "IKEA survey", "2019 national elections exit poll - 56 people".

The auditors question the ability of an earthworks company to conduct such research, as it did not have the necessary personnel and equipment.
