Parathlete Marios Filippou, through the Cyprus Confederation of Organizations of the Disabled (KY.S.O.A.), expressed his refusal to have his face appear in the apology video of MEP Phidias Panagiotou. The video was published after the term "pelloi" was used by Phidias Panagiotou in his podcast, where Marios Filippou was a guest.

KYSOA emphasizes that the term, for which Mr. Panagiotou apologized, remains in public view for two months. KYSOA also considers it an insult to attribute the social reaction to political motives.

In his apology video, Phidias Panagiotou apologized for using the word, acknowledging his mistake towards the athletes of the S14 category of the Paralympic Games and to anyone he may have offended. At the same time, he hinted at ulterior motives regarding the timing of the reaction, after a poll for the parliamentary elections.
