Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis addressed Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni's use of the legislative provision for co-custody during an interview on SKAI.

Mr. Mitsotakis, without mentioning the minister by name, emphasized that the regulation went through the normal parliamentary procedure and is correct, as it requires the re-examination of issues concerning co-custody. He characteristically stated: "When we hold public office, it is not enough to stand only on the substance, but we must also take into account the impressions."

In response to a question about Mrs. Kefalogianni's case, the Prime Minister replied that it is a personal matter, stressing that there are children involved. He reiterated that he would stand by the correctness of the provision itself.

Mr. Mitsotakis rejected claims of a lack of consultation on the provision, noting that it was voted on by many MPs and proposed by the Ministry of Justice. No political repercussions are expected for Olga Kefalogianni.
