The President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, assured that the electricity interconnection between Greece and Cyprus will proceed, despite any technical differences.

In an interview, he emphasized that relations between Athens and Nicosia are stronger than ever and that there is no crisis between the two countries.

Mr. Christodoulides stated that the Republic of Cyprus strongly supports the implementation of the project and has allocated 25 million euros in its budget for 2026.

Furthermore, he stated that unreasonable challenges from Turkey that deviate from International Law will not be accepted.

The Minister of Energy of Greece, Mr. Papastavrou, has confirmed the viability of the project, which is also supported by funding from the European Union.
