New Left Criticizes Mitsotakis' Economic Announcements at Thessaloniki Fair

The New Left party has strongly criticized Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis' economic announcements at the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), calling them a "manifesto of poverty and injustice."
According to their statement, the presented measures constitute a "redistribution of poverty" and are insufficient to substantially relieve households. The New Left argues that the tax reduction for families is inadequate, while simultaneously leaving wealth and business profits untouched.
The party proposes a reduction in indirect taxation, an increase in the taxation of profits and large fortunes, and the strengthening of control mechanisms.
Reference is also made to the cost of the measures, which is described as less than half of the surplus, as well as the lack of indexation of tax brackets.
