The publication of the names of those appointed as general directors in public service has sparked political controversy, with AKEL accusing Nikos Christodoulides of "favoritism." The Presidential Palace rejected the accusations through Constantinos Letymbiotis, emphasizing the strict procedures of the Public Service Commission (EDY).

The opposition focuses on the appointment of individuals connected to Nikos Christodoulides, raising issues of ethics. Alexandra Attalides and Irene Charalambidou expressed doubts about the objectivity of the selection criteria.

At the center of the reactions is Anna Aristotelous, who is under investigation by the Legal Service, as well as the appointment of the director of THOC, Georgios Papageorgiou, husband of Irene Piki. In addition, the presence of Charalambos Charalambous, Marilena Raouna, and Irene Piki in government positions is mentioned.

Political circles report that the selection of trusted individuals is linked to insecurity. Examples of appointments include Andreas Papaconstantinou, Christos Patsalides, Costas Kadis, Elena Pericleous, and Marios Charalambides. At the same time, a weakening of the Averof front is noted with the removal of Angelos Grigoriadis and Giorgos Pantelis.
