New Round of Consultations on Teacher Evaluation Plan

The Ministry of Education is initiating a new round of consultations with educational organizations regarding the teacher evaluation plan. Minister of Education, Athina Michaelidou, has invited the organizations to separate meetings next week.
The trade union organizations (POED, OELMEK, and OLTEK) are awaiting written reports of the verbal statements from the Ministry, in order to clarify the situation and determine whether there are convergences on key issues. The bill for the new evaluation plan has been submitted to Parliament since June.
Athina Michaelidou will meet with POED on Monday, and responses are expected from the Ministry of Education on the positions submitted. OELMEK, which had initially withdrawn from the dialogue process, is now positive about listening to the suggestions of the Ministry. Two days after OELMEK, a meeting will be held with OLTEK.
The Ministry's goal is to complete the discussions by mid-September, so that the amendments can be promoted to Parliament and the bill can be voted on before the end of the year.
