The Council of Ministers has approved a bill entitled "The Imaging Centers (Registration, Operation and Control) Law of 2025," which aims to regulate imaging centers in Cyprus.

The Minister of Health, Michalis Damianos, stated that the goal is to ensure the quality and safety of imaging services, such as X-rays, CT scans, and MRI scans.

The bill establishes licensing and operating standards, including building infrastructure and staffing. The Ministry of Health will be responsible for supervision and control, and a registry of imaging centers accessible to the public will be created.

Each center must have an operations manager and a scientific director. Inspections and penalties for violations are provided for. The legislation covers all providers, whether integrated into GESY or not.

The bill will be submitted to Parliament for discussion and voting.
