Nikolas Papadopoulos Criticizes President Christodoulides over GSI: 'Clarify Your Position'

DIKO President Nikolas Papadopoulos has strongly criticized the government and the Minister of Finance regarding their handling of the electricity interconnection project.
Speaking on state television, Mr. Papadopoulos expressed concern that the project would collapse, which he said would be a victory for Turkey and a geopolitical defeat for Cyprus, similar to the S-300 crisis.
Accusing President Christodoulides of not responding to his letter, Nikolas Papadopoulos called on him to clarify his position and implement the agreements he signed.
The DIKO president questioned whether the President agrees with the Minister of Energy, who considers the project viable, versus the Minister of Finance, who deems it unviable.
Mr. Papadopoulos also referred to derogatory remarks made by Makis Keravnos towards DIKO, which supports the government at a political cost.
He also questioned whether Makis Keravnos is solely responsible, while the European Union and the Energy Ministers of Cyprus and Greece, who support the project, are not.
