Legal Service Finds Unconstitutional Provisions in Multiple Pensions

The Legal Service has identified unconstitutional provisions in an AKEL bill concerning multiple pensions for state officials. The bill, discussed in the Parliamentary Committee on Finance, concerns the establishment of a unified pension scheme.

The Ministry of Finance has also expressed disagreements. AKEL MP Giorgos Loukaidis stated that his party is ready to improve the proposal. The chair of the Finance Committee, Christiana Erotokritou, stated that the bills will be brought before the Plenary of the Parliament on July 10.
