Ecologists Call for Karsera's Resignation from Foundation, Similar Action from Charalambous

The Cyprus Green Party – Citizens' Cooperation is calling for institutional strengthening and transparency in the Independent Social Support Agency, following the resignation of Filippa Karsera from the Management Committee. In a statement, the Ecologists express respect for Ms. Karsera's move and call on the Director of the Office of the President of the Republic, Charalambos Charalambous, to take similar action.
The Ecologists emphasize that the resignation highlights the need for substantial institutional changes, regardless of intentions or personal motives. They stress that the discussion concerns institutions and not individuals, and that institutions must operate with full transparency and accountability.
They also mention that Parliament attempted to strengthen the transparency framework of the Agency, but the effort was deemed unconstitutional. Nevertheless, the need for clear rules and institutional safeguards remains relevant. The Ecologists emphasize that social contribution must be institutionally protected and not depend on individuals or informal practices.
