2025 ESSO Soldiers Sworn In – Minister of Defense's Message

New soldiers of the National Guard, the new recruits of the 2025 ESSO, were sworn in at ceremonies held in all provinces. Minister of Defense Vasilis Palmas welcomed their integration into the armed forces.

At the ceremony in Nicosia, at the 'Tassos Papadopoulos' Eleftheria Stadium, Vasilis Palmas called on soldiers and parents to be proud of their service in the National Guard, calling service to the homeland 'a great honor and duty'.

After the swearing-in ceremony, the new recruits received an overnight leave and will return to their units on Wednesday, July 30.

The Minister's full address referred to the honor and duty of service, as well as safeguarding freedom and democracy.
