2025 ESSO Oath Ceremony: Minister of Defence's Address

The Minister of Defence, Vasilis Palmas, attended the swearing-in ceremony of the soldiers of the 2025 ESSO at Eleftheria Stadium.

Mr. Palmas welcomed the new national guardsmen to the National Guard, emphasizing the responsibility towards the semi-occupied homeland and its history. He also referred to the sacred duty of defending the independence and territorial integrity of the Republic of Cyprus.

The Minister of Defence assured the parents that the safety of their children is a top priority and that the Ministry is working to provide maximum safety and the best living conditions.

Finally, he congratulated the administrations of the Formations and Units for the successful enlistment process of the soldiers.
