Taxi License Freeze in Cyprus After Tatar's Intervention

Following reactions to the "government's" "pre-election decisions," Ersin Tatar intervened with "Prime Minister" Ünal Üstel, leading to the freezing of 2500 taxi "licenses."
According to Vatan, Tatar requested the freeze from Üstel, a request that was accepted. The "Minister of Transport," Erhan Arıklı, announced the freeze and not the cancellation of the decision.
Kıbrıs Postası reports that Üstel planned to grant the licenses in stages after the "presidential elections." Tatar's intervention overturned this plan.
The president of RTK and candidate for the "presidential elections," Tufan Erhürman, commented that Tatar feared the electoral consequences.
The president of KL, Kudret Özersay, stated that the 75-day period for the cancellation of illegal acts constitutes a "serious impasse" and should be amended.
