The Ministry of Environment and Energy (ΥΠΕΝ) is promoting amendments to extend deadlines on various issues related to buildings and illegal structures.

Specifically, the imposition of sanctions is suspended for buildings with canceled building permits due to the use of incentives from the New Building Regulation (ΝΟΚ), with an extension until 31.12.2026.

In addition, a two-year extension is granted for the settlement of small and medium-scale illegal structures, until March 31, 2028, as well as for the issuance of a building identity for private buildings of public use, until February 1, 2028.

The responsibility for demolishing illegal structures remains with the Decentralized Administrations until the end of June, while the final inspection reports and demolition protocols issued by June 30, 2026, will be executed as a priority.

Finally, the deadline for the payment of 35 million euros from the Ministry of Interior to the Hellenic Recycling Organization (Ε.Ο.ΑΝ.) for waste disposal fees is extended until March 31, 2026.
