Paroutis: Aristotelous's challenge a 'bomb' in the foundations of the state

Journalist Soteris Paroutis, in a commentary on OMEGA, described Anna Aristotelous's challenge to the Police and the investigative authorities as a "bomb in the foundations of the rule of law". Anna Aristotelous is the Presidential Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs.

Mr. Paroutis referred to the decision of the Council of Ministers to propose to the EDU the termination of Ms. Aristotelous's appointment as Deputy Director-General of the Ministry, as well as her possible appeal against the decision.

Commenting on Ms. Aristotelous's allegations, Mr. Paroutis stressed the need for the Legal Service to respond, while pointing out that Ms. Aristotelous herself should explain how classified documents were found in a private space.

Mr. Paroutis linked the case to previous incidents, such as the Police's "mishaps" in Larnaca and the Odysseas Michaelides case, underlining the seriousness of the situation.
