PASOK Refuses to Participate in «Athens Alitheia Forum»

PASOK has issued a statement regarding the «Athens Alitheia Forum», announcing that it will not participate. The party's press representative, Kostas Tsoukalas, stated that the conference is an attempt by the government to 'whitewash' its methods.
Kostas Tsoukalas stated that he will not legitimize a 'government show' with his presence and will not grant 'forgiveness to the government of fake news.' He argued that defending the truth requires transparency in media funding and respect for the independence of journalism.
In his statement, Kostas Tsoukalas mentioned that the conference is a 'boutique of government communication' and accused the government of turning state resources into spoils for those who serve it. He also referred to PASOK's positions and proposals for press freedom and support for regional media.
