Aristotelous Removed from Defense Ministry, Replacement Named

The Public Service Commission (EDY) announced the termination of the acting appointment of Anna Aristotelous from the position of Director-General of the Ministry of Defense, following a relevant recommendation.

According to the official announcement, EDY decided to terminate the appointment of Mrs. Aristotelous, Director of Prisons, effective June 25, 2025.

Simultaneously, Ellikos Elias, Director-General of the Ministry of Interior, was appointed to perform the duties of Director-General at the Ministry of Defense from June 25 to July 2, 2025, in addition to his existing duties.

The decision comes in light of developments surrounding the Aristotelous case, who has announced her intention to appeal the government decision and is under investigation in a criminal case.
