PEO: Supporting the Rights of the Palestinian People

The General Secretary of PEO, Sotiroula Charalambous, stated that they support the right of the Palestinian people to live freely in their land. The statement was made at a solidarity event in Larnaca.

Ms. Charalambous emphasized the need to implement UN resolutions for the creation of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital within the 1967 borders.

The event took place within the framework of the global week of solidarity of the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU) with the Palestinian people. Palestinian comrades from Jerusalem and the West Bank, as well as trade unionists from the Arab world, were also present.

Ms. Charalambous criticized Israel's aggression in Gaza and the support it receives from the USA and the European Union. She also criticized the Christodoulides government for its relations with Israel.

PEO calls for a boycott of arms shipments to Israel and the provision of humanitarian aid to the Palestinians, demanding drastic measures of pressure and isolation of the Israeli regime.
