Manolis Karakostantakis, Historical PASOK Member, Passes Away

Manolis Karakostantakis, a historical member of PASOK and companion of Andreas Papandreou, has passed away at the age of 85.
The president of PASOK-KINAL, Nikos Androulakis, expressed his sorrow for the loss, emphasizing Karakostantakis' contribution to the struggle against the Junta as secretary of PAK Italy and his integrity in serving the Democratic Alignment.
"With deep respect, I bid farewell to Manolis Karakostantakis, a companion of Andreas Papandreou from the years of PAK and one of the founding members of PASOK in 1974," Mr. Androulakis stated.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 6th, at 12:00 PM at the Holy Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos Mastabas (Panagitsa) in Heraklion, Crete. The family requests that, instead of wreaths, donations be made to charitable institutions.
Manolis Karakostantakis served as president of the Heraklion Port Authority and the Viannos Association "O Patouchas."
Nikos Androulakis added that "Heraklion and his birthplace, Viannos, mourn a great man. My sincere condolences to his family."
