POED Sends Strong Message Regarding School Evaluation

POED sent a strong message with its work stoppage, according to its President, Myria Vasiliou. The organization expressed its opposition to the new evaluation plan.
Ms. Vasiliou thanked the members of POED for their support to the organization. She noted that the work stoppage sent a message to the executive branch, which, she said, failed to convince teachers about the new evaluation plan.
In addition, POED expressed concerns about the role of the Director in the final evaluation and the removal of the transitional provision. Ms. Vasiliou stated that they hope there will be amendments on Monday so that amendments that are contrary to the organization's positions are not passed.
In the event that the bill passes without the desired changes, Ms. Vasiliou stated that there will be unrest in the education sector. POED will assess the situation and take appropriate decisions.
