Political Reactions to Demetriou's Statements on 'Discord with the Other Side'

Annita Demetriou's statements regarding the need for discord 'with the other side' have provoked reactions in the political arena. The statements were made at the inauguration of a monument for Tassos Isaac and Solomos Solomou.

DISY, through its Press Spokesperson Onoufrios Koullas, responded to criticisms from AKEL and Volt Cyprus, accusing them of basing their propaganda on fragmented videos. Mr. Koullas stated that 'shame is ashamed of them'.

AKEL, through its Press Spokesperson Giorgos Koukoumas, accused DISY of 'patriotism-mongering' and indifference to the impact on the Cyprus issue. Volt Cyprus described the statements as 'fueling division'.

DISY responded that the 'other side' to whom Ms. Demetriou referred are the murderers of Isaac and Solomou, the occupying army, and Turkey.
