Multiple pensions for officials: What changes after the vote in Parliament

Parliament partially approved the changes to the law on multiple pensions for officials, after it was returned by the President of the Republic. The possibility of appealing to the Supreme Constitutional Court remains open.
What was approved:
- The definition of the term "office, function or position in the Republic" was redefined to cover all positions in the public and wider public sector.
- The current Attorney General and the Assistant Attorney General, the current judges, the members of the Audit Office and the Governor of the Central Bank were explicitly excluded.
- The power of the Accountant General to decide on how to allocate the pension was removed.
What was not accepted:
Parliament did not adopt the Presidency's objections regarding unequal treatment of persons, violation of the right to property, interference with the terms of existing contracts and the claim that the laws contain administrative elements.
The Presidential Palace awaits the opinion of the Attorney General before making an official statement.
The original laws provided for an increase in the retirement age and suspension of pension in case of taking a new position.
