President: "We act responsibly, we are not part of an operation"

The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, assured the Cypriot people that the government is acting responsibly and transparently, with the safety of the country as its guiding principle amidst the crisis in the Middle East.

The President emphasized the alertness and operational readiness of the competent services, as well as the activation of the emergency alert system on a trial basis.

The government is working to safely repatriate Cypriots stranded abroad, with the first flights having already arrived.

N. Christodoulides reiterated that Cyprus is not participating in any military operation, remaining committed to its humanitarian role.

Assistance from Greece and France has been secured, and consultations with other countries are ongoing.
