President Christodoulides: Support for those affected by foot-and-mouth disease

The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, assured that the Government supports those affected by foot-and-mouth disease. During a meeting with those affected, he stressed that the goal of the Government and those affected is common and they will jointly define a strategy to address the issue.

President Christodoulides stated that in the midst of the difficult regional situation, the Government is approaching the issue with great importance. He stated that a review of the situation will be carried out and decisions will be taken on the way forward. A first decision has already been taken in the Council of Ministers and others are expected.

Mr. Christodoulides stressed the importance of the sector not only for the domestic market, but also for exports, and reiterated the Government's commitment to work with those affected to address the problem.
