Cyprus Ready to Support Ukraine's EU Path, President Tells Zelensky

The President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, assured his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, that Cyprus is ready to contribute to Ukraine's European path. This commitment was made during a telephone conversation between the two leaders on Thursday.

According to the Government Spokesperson, Konstantinos Letymbiotis, Mr. Zelensky informed that he will attend the official opening ceremony of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union in Nicosia on January 7.

President Christodoulides reiterated Cyprus' unwavering support for the Ukrainian people, sovereignty, and independence of Ukraine. This support will be a key priority during the Cypriot Presidency of the EU Council.

Mr. Zelensky expressed his gratitude to Cyprus and the Cypriot people for their support.
