Video Leak Shakes Cyprus Presidential Palace

A scandal has erupted following the leak of a video linking the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, to corruption. The video, featuring Charalambos Charalambous, Director of the President's Office, Giorgos Lakkotrypis, former Minister of Energy, and Giorgos Chrysochos, CEO of Cyfield, has triggered strong reactions.
President Nikos Christodoulides stated that he would not allow anyone to accuse him of corruption, calling on anyone with evidence of bribery to submit it to the competent authorities. The Government is attempting to manage the crisis, while investigating the possibility of Russian interference.
Deputy Government Spokesman Giannis Antoniou stated that the conversations are not disputed, but there is malicious audio and video editing. The opposition and society demand clear answers.
