Seraphin: Cypriot Presidency Crucial for EU Budget Agreement

Commissioner for Budget, Anti-Fraud and Public Administration, Piotr Seraphin, stated that the Presidency of the Republic of Cyprus in the Council of the European Union is crucial for achieving consensus on budget issues among the 27 member states.
Mr. Seraphin is visiting Nicosia and was received by the President of the Republic, who assured that Cyprus will make every effort to achieve progress and consensus on the EU budget issue during its Presidency. He also emphasized that priority will be given to other important issues, such as migration.
The European official mentioned that Cyprus is the first country he is visiting after the submission of the budget proposal. He also expressed his belief that Cyprus will be a popular destination for EU institutions and representatives of member states during the Presidency.
The Deputy Minister of European Affairs, Marilena Raouna, attended the meeting.
