Stef. Stefanou: AKEL on a good path towards elections

The General Secretary of AKEL, Stefanos Stefanou, stated that polls show AKEL is on a good path towards the parliamentary elections in May. The statements were made at a pre-election rally in Larnaca, where the party's candidates for parliament from the Larnaca and Famagusta districts were presented.

Mr. Stefanou referred to the critical nature of the elections due to the challenges Cyprus faces, such as the Cyprus issue, energy sufficiency, the water crisis, and economic difficulties.

He also emphasized that AKEL has specific proposals to address these issues and called on the public to intensify their efforts ahead of the elections. He mentioned that AKEL's ballots combine experience and renewal, with the participation of new candidates and personalities from the Social Alliance.

Chrystallla Antoniou, Larnaca District Secretary, stressed the need for clear solutions and effective representation in Parliament. Christos Nikolaou, AKEL Famagusta District Secretary, referred to the particularity of the Larnaca district due to the presence of refugees and stressed the party's commitment to stand by them.
