AKEL General Secretary, Stefanos Stefanou, responded to the Israeli ambassador's remarks regarding antisemitic rhetoric, emphasizing that AKEL does not hate people and is against misanthropic ideologies.

Mr. Stefanou stated that "Israel does not tolerate any criticism and wants to control everyone." He also mentioned that according to Netanyahu, even the UN Secretary-General, Josep Borrell, and the BBC are considered antisemites because they criticized Israel's policies.

Finally, Mr. Stefanou referred to the need for a stricter institutional framework regarding land purchases in Cyprus by citizens of third countries, including Israelis, Chinese, and Russians.
