Focus on skills in the new school year, says Government Spokesperson

The goal of this school year is to focus on skills with updated Curricula, said the Government Spokesperson, Konstantinos Letymbiotis.
In statements at the Presidential Palace, Mr. Letymbiotis mentioned that the new school year begins with students and teachers at the heart of policies, expressing wishes for a creative, safe, and productive year.
Emphasis is placed on modernizing the Curricula and reducing content. An important step is the introduction of the Technical Gymnasium, which operates on a pilot basis in Nicosia and Limassol.
For the 2025-2026 school year, there is a shift towards skills, the institution of the social worker is implemented in schools with a high degree of delinquency, and the legislation for special education is amended. Emphasis is also placed on mental health and resilience.
Finally, the Spokesperson wished a good school year, emphasizing that education is at the core of the government's strategy.
