Hatzidakis-Tsiaras Meeting at OPEKEPE on Agricultural Subsidies

Deputy Prime Minister Kostis Hatzidakis and Minister of Rural Development and Food Kostas Tsiaras visited OPEKEPE to discuss agricultural subsidy payments. The meeting was also attended by the governor of AADE, Giorgos Pitsilis, and other officials.

K. Hatzidakis emphasized the need for transparency and fairness in payments, as well as pressure from the European Commission for a transparent system by 2026. The submission of declarations ended on October 20.

K. Tsiaras referred to the difficulties of OPEKEPE's transition to a new era of transparency and justice, with the aim of supporting farmers.

G. Pitsilis underlined the government's dual objective: timely payments and ensuring transparency.
