Meeting on Cost of Living Allowance (ATA) Between Social Partners, Labor Minister

A new joint meeting between social partners and the Minister of Labor, Giannis Panagiotou, regarding the Cost of Living Allowance (ATA) is taking place at 9:30 AM. There is significant concern regarding the resolution of the issue.
The meeting will reveal whether there is potential for a positive outcome or if a deadlock will be declared. Yesterday, the Minister of Labor met with the presidents of employer associations OEB and KEBE, following a separate meeting with trade unions.
OEB and KEBE disagree with the automatic increase in operating costs for businesses, while the trade unions favor expanding the institution. The issue of ATA is related to the level of the state payroll and the possible imposition of an income ceiling.
The President of the Republic has discussed these ideas with the leadership of the trade unions.
