Christodoulides-Erhürman Meeting in Difficult Climate

The meeting between Nikos Christodoulides and Tufan Erhürman is taking place in a negative climate today at 11:00 at the Dian residence. The statements and actions of the occupation leader are leading to delays in the Cyprus issue.
At the previous meeting, in the presence of María Ángela Holguín, President Christodoulides proposed five steps to restart negotiations, including reaffirming the form of a solution and the Crans Montana convergence document.
He also proposed opening four crossing points (Kokkina, Louroutzina, Mia Milia, and Athienou – Aglantzia) and new unilateral measures towards Turkish Cypriots.
Tufan Erhürman rejected the proposal, insisting on confirming convergences, 'locking' political equality, and a timetable with guarantees. He also began to promote sovereign equality, causing the annoyance of President Christodoulides.
Holguín has reportedly announced that the process will proceed at the pace of the occupied territories, indicating delays until July.
