Christodoulides-Erhürman Meeting: Guterres' Plan for Cyprus

President Christodoulides will brief T/C leader Tufan Erhürman on his discussions with UN Secretary-General António Guterres regarding the Cyprus issue.
According to reports, Guterres proposed a plan based on the 2017 Crans Montana framework, reaffirming convergences, a single sovereignty, citizenship, and international personality.
President Christodoulides stated that he is open to discussing other issues if Mr. Erhürman wishes. At the same time, he attributed the ban on pilgrims visiting Hala Sultan to factors within the Turkish Cypriot community, and not to the T/C leader himself.
Referring to the statements of Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu, the President stressed that knowledge of historical truth does not impede a solution to the Cyprus issue.
