Christodoulides Meets Golob: Bilateral Relations & Cyprus' EU Presidency

The President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, met with the Prime Minister of Slovenia, Robert Golob, on the sidelines of the MED9 Summit in Slovenia.

According to a statement by Victor Papadopoulos, Director of the President's Press Office, bilateral relations and the priorities of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2026 were discussed.

Satisfaction was expressed regarding the cooperation and the intention to strengthen relations in the fields of defense, tourism, trade, and services. President Christodoulides thanked Slovenia for its stance on the Cyprus issue and its participation in the UN Peacekeeping Force.

The President briefed on the priorities of the Cypriot Presidency, such as migration, security, the Recovery and Resilience Plan, EU competitiveness, strategic autonomy, EU enlargement, and relations with the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East.
