Christodoulides and Nehammer Meet in Cyprus to Discuss Bilateral Relations, Schengen

The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, will meet with the Austrian Chancellor, Karl Nehammer, during an official visit to Cyprus on August 21 and 22.

Discussions will focus on bilateral relations, European agenda issues, the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2026, the Cyprus issue, the situation in Ukraine and the Middle East.

Special emphasis will be placed on deepening cooperation in the fields of energy, innovation, education, tourism and culture. Migration and Cyprus' accession to the Schengen area will also be discussed.

The program includes a private dinner, private meetings, extended talks, statements to the media, a tour of the ceasefire line in Nicosia, and a visit to the House of Representatives.
