T. Erhürman: Commitment to the 'rule of law'

Tufan Erhürman expressed his commitment to the 'rule of law' upon receiving his mandate at a ceremony at the 'supreme court'. As reported from the occupied territories, Mr. Erhürman is considered 'officially president' from 15:00.

Mr. Erhürman stated that democracy is rooted in institutions and expressed satisfaction with the completion of the process by the 'supreme electoral council'.

'I will never abandon my respect for the constitution and my commitment to protecting the rule of law,' he said, adding that the 'presidency' will play an active role in overseeing the 'constitutionality of laws'.
