Tassoulas: Anna Psarouda-Benaki Served Democracy

The President of the Hellenic Republic, Konstantinos Tassoulas, expressed his sorrow for the loss of Anna Psarouda-Benaki, emphasizing her contribution to strengthening the prestige of the Parliament and her service to Democracy.
In his statement, Mr. Tassoulas stated that Anna Psarouda-Benaki was a role model of integrity, high training, and sense of duty, being a source of inspiration for women scientists and young people who wish to participate in politics.
The President of the Republic highlighted her academic career, her promotion as a prominent member of the Academy of Athens, and her election as the first woman President of the Hellenic Parliament in 2004.
Furthermore, he noted the respect she gained from all parties in the Parliament, as well as her contribution to legal science and public affairs.
Mr. Tassoulas expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased.
