Ersin Tatar has condemned the reactions from the Greek Cypriot side regarding the visit of British MP Afzal Khan to the occupied territories, calling them "unacceptable and intolerant." In a written statement, Tatar argued that the reactions are an example of the "unfair and illegal policy of isolation" against Turkish Cypriots.

Tatar emphasized that such attacks against a member of parliament are unacceptable and constitute disrespect towards the Turkish Cypriot people. He claimed that the Greek Cypriot side excludes the Turkish Cypriot side from international contacts, trade, sports, and culture.

Tatar added that the stance of the Greek Cypriot leadership shows how misguided an approach is that would link the will of the Turkish Cypriot "people" to the approval of the Greek Cypriot side. A statement on the matter was also issued by the "Freedom and Justice Campaign for Northern Cyprus," a Turkish Cypriot organization in London, arguing that visits like that of Mr. Khan should be encouraged.
