Tatar calls Erhürman "candidate of no solution"

Ersin Tatar has called Tufan Erhürman, leader of the Republican Turkish Party (RTK), a "candidate of no solution," arguing that his approach aligns with the "Greek Cypriot mentality."
In a statement, Mr. Tatar stated that the Cyprus issue has been on the international agenda for 62 years and that there are two separate structures on the island.
He reiterated his position for a new two-state policy, stressing the need to confirm the "sovereign equality and equal international status" of the Turkish Cypriots. He also referred to the "3D" proposal (Direct Contact, Direct Trade and Direct Flights).
Mr. Tatar recalled the statements of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan regarding the closure of the federation chapter and accused Mr. Erhürman of using "election campaign" material, attributing the problem to the "Greek Cypriot side."
