Tatar: Christodoulides is lying about the talks

Ersin Tatar has denied President Christodoulides' claims that there was an agreement to resume talks from where they left off in Crans Montana. In statements to the director of the Haber Kibris website, Hüseyin Ekmekçi, Tatar accused Christodoulides of making false claims, arguing that the UN statement confirms this.

Tatar stated that he expressed his objections regarding the armaments of the Republic of Cyprus and the detention of Simon Aykut. He also accused the Greek Cypriot side of obstructive behavior in agriculture and education, and criticized Christodoulides for thanking the King of Jordan regarding the termination of halloumi exports from the occupied territories.

He also referred to the proposal to open crossing points in Mia Milia and Louroutzina, accusing the Greek Cypriot side of causing problems in crossings at Agios Dometios under the pretext of joining Schengen.

Tatar denied that he was aggressive towards Christodoulides, saying that he always called him "my friend Nikos" and that Christodoulides' discomfort was due to his refusal to continue the talks from Crans Montana.
