Positive Response to Olguin's New Date for Cyprus Visit

Government Spokesperson, Konstantinos Letymbiotis, stated that the President of the Republic responded positively to the proposal by the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General, Maria Angela Olguin, for a new date for her visit to Cyprus. Announcements are expected from the United Nations.
In response to a question regarding a complaint about the usurpation of Greek Cypriot property in the occupied territories by the Turkish Cypriot trade unionist, Sener Elcil, Mr. Letymbiotis stated that the Government cannot make further statements as the case is before the Justice system.
Regarding the issue of the usurpation of Greek Cypriot properties, Mr. Letymbiotis stressed that the Republic of Cyprus has consistently raised this issue, as it constitutes a violation of human rights in an EU member state that has been experiencing the consequences of the Turkish invasion and occupation for 51 years. He also stated that Turkey attempted to exploit this issue along with colonization.
The Republic of Cyprus responds with diplomatic arguments, claiming the protection of fundamental human rights and international law.
