Turkish Media: Five Greek Cypriots 'Spies' in Occupied Territories

Turkish and Turkish Cypriot media outlets continue to report on the case of the five Greek Cypriots arrested in the occupied territories, with the Turkish website Haber 7 calling them 'spies caught in the act.' According to reports, the detainees allegedly collected information on Greek Cypriot properties with the aim of filing lawsuits and issuing European arrest warrants against Turks exploiting the properties.
The reports state that the five were arrested in the Gastria area on July 19, after complaints that they were moving around in a vehicle and causing disturbance. The occupation 'authorities' accuse them of illegal entry and property trespass.
According to Kıbrıs Postası, documents, maps, title deeds, and lists of names of companies and businessmen were confiscated. Kıbrıs Ayrıntı adds that the detainees allegedly violated a restricted military zone.
The five were taken to the 'district court' of Trikomo, where their three-day detention was ordered.
