Turkish Reactions to Barak MX: "Threat to Our Security"

Concerns have arisen in Turkey regarding the potential acquisition of the Israeli Barak MX anti-aircraft system by Cyprus. The Deputy Chairman of the Republican People's Party (CHP), Yanki Bagcioglu, stated that the system poses an immediate threat to the national security of Turkey and the "TRNC".
According to Bagcioglu, the delivery of the system to the port of Limassol constitutes a violation of international law. The Barak MX, capable of neutralizing aircraft, drones, and missiles, is considered more advanced than the Russian S-300.
Bagcioglu warned that the system could be installed in Paphos, allowing for the monitoring of aerial activity up to the Aksaz – Iskenderun region in Turkey. He also expressed concerns about the system's interconnection with Israel and the transfer of critical data.
Bagcioglu called on Ankara to take diplomatic action and demonstrate deterrence to safeguard peace and stability in the Eastern Mediterranean.
