Tsoukalas: Questions about Greece-Cyprus Cable Project

PASOK-KINAL Press Representative, Kostas Tsoukalas, has called on the government to provide explanations regarding the progress of the Greece-Cyprus electricity interconnection cable project. This follows statements by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Haris Theocharis, which were contradicted by the Deputy Spokesperson of the Republic of Cyprus, Giannis Antoniou.
Mr. Tsoukalas referred to conflicting statements by officials regarding the completion of surveys and the project timeline. He also mentioned an atmosphere of confrontation between Athens and Nicosia. He requested the government to present an accurate timeline and clarify its position regarding responsibilities for any delays.
Finally, he recalled the EU's support for the project, as confirmed by European Commissioner Mr. Jørgensen, in response to PASOK-KINAL MEP Giannis Maniatis.
