A letter from Metropolitan Tychikos, former of Paphos, reveals disagreements with Archbishop George regarding the location and timing of his mother's memorial service, as well as the requested confession of faith.

In the letter, Tychikos states that he requested permission to officiate in various churches, including the I.N. Agios Georgios Messana, where the memorial service was eventually held on 5/7/2025. Tychikos' side had claimed that the Archbishop forced him to hold the memorial service in a remote chapel on Saturday to prevent many believers from attending.

Tychikos also reiterates that he considers himself the canonical Metropolitan of Paphos until his appeal is heard, but remains silent to avoid scandalizing the people. He also refers to his refusal to mention the Pan-Orthodox Council of Crete in the confession of faith, which is causing reactions from Archbishop George and other Synod members.

Archbishop George has prepared accommodation for Tychikos in Nicosia, should he decide to comply with his instructions. However, the issue of the confession of faith remains a sticking point in their relationship.
