Tychikos Submits Declaration of Faith – Waiting for the Decision of the Ecumenical Patriarchate

Former Metropolitan of Paphos, Tychikos, has submitted a declaration of faith, as requested by the Holy Synod following his removal from office.

According to a report on orthodoxianewsagency.gr, Tychikos declares his support for the restoration of Church unity and rejects positions advocating separation.

Alpha's correspondent in Paphos, Costas Nanos, reports that Tychikos' family pressured him to submit the declaration.

Meanwhile, the decision of the Ecumenical Patriarchate regarding Tychikos' appeal is expected by the end of July or early August. Estimates suggest that the decision will not differ from that of the Holy Synod.

Archbishop Georgios had set the signing of a declaration of faith as a prerequisite for granting Tychikos a title.
